Sailfish - Key West Fishing
 |
| World-Class Fishing in the Florida Keys. |
Sailfish live in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. The Atlantic variety
being somewhat smaller than it's Pacific counterpart. In Key West waters
sailfish tend to weigh from 35 to 80 pounds or more.
Beautiful and acrobatic, these fish make excellent trophies for home
or office. With modern methods, a skilled taxidermist can make a mounted
replica from measurements and a photo taken before the fish is released.
Sailfish are caught year-round in waters near Key West. However, as with
the blue marlin, spring and fall are best for sailfish.

| Keys Fishing Fact |
| The Florida
Keys are located in the most biologically diverse area of the Atlantic
Ocean. Due to the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean sandwiching
the islands, while the warm Gulf Stream current meanders close by,
the ocean surrounding the Keys contains more species of fish than
anywhere else in the Atlantic.
